Overview
St John Fisher High School in Wigan is set to undergo a massive renovation in order to make its facilities, classrooms and dining halls more accessible to disabled students.
Although the revamp won’t mean the school will be able to accept a bigger cohort of pupils every September when the new academic year rolls around, it will mean they’ll be able to accept more disabled students.
Currently the secondary school doesn’t have any disabled access, but the redevelopment will see the construction of a three-storey teaching block which will be able to cater to disabled pupils.
The revamp will also include the demolition of the existing school buildings, a new sports block, new sports courts, a four-storey temporary teaching block and a whole new reconfiguration of the car park and its access.
