Senior Contracts Manager, Dermot Costello, undertook the Manchester Marathon on the 7th April 2019, completing the 26.2-mile marathon in 3 hours and 25 minutes.
In preparation for this, Dermot created a training and diet plan which he started on the 1st December 2018, ensuring he ate a lot of carbs everyday and remaining alcohol free during this period. His training plan included running approximately 50 miles per week with a 20-mile run every Saturday, throughout this period he has managed to remain injury free.
Dermot told us,
I completed the marathon for my own personal achievement, and I wanted to cross the finish line in under 3 hours 30 minutes. On the day of the marathon, the conditions were perfect for running, I was in good shape for it and the full 26.2 miles were lined with people and entertainment. I managed to cross the finish line in 3 hours 25 minutes. Job done!
