Overview
This significant education project is part of the wider plans by the Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Trust to transform the school campus and establish the Academy as the leading school of choice in the area. The vision is to provide a modern, inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically, personally, and socially.
The comprehensive redevelopment involves replacing all existing buildings with a new state-of-the-art, four-form entry school. To allow the school to remain operational throughout the works, construction will be phased, beginning with a new single school building before moving on to the surrounding external works and facilities. The new school building is due to open in Summer 2026, with final completion of the full site redevelopment targeted for 2027.
What are we doing?
Our works comprise a comprehensive scope, beginning with enabling works including the construction of a new substation foundation, diversion of existing drainage and utility services, formation of temporary footpaths and vehicle access points, as well as hardstanding areas for welfare cabins and site hoarding.
Phase 1 of the construction includes the installation of a new drainage outfall connection, both foul and surface water drainage systems, and the complete substructure works for the new building. This incorporates reinforced concrete pile caps, ground beams, service pits, and a suspended reinforced concrete ground floor slab.
Phase 2 will see the formation of new parking areas and pedestrian footpaths, installation of underground service ducting for low voltage power, gas, water, and street lighting, and construction of foundations for solar canopies. This phase will also involve cut and fill operations to prepare landscaped areas, including topsoil placement and the planting of trees, shrubs, turf, and wildflower seeding, alongside areas of block paving.
This important education-sector project demonstrates our commitment to quality delivery and collaboration, and we look forward to progressing through each stage of the works.
