Overview

As part of a £50 million development in Manchester, 573 new student accommodation bedrooms were commissioned to be built next to Manchester Oxford Road train station to serve the University of Manchester’s Oxford Road campus.

Spanning 30 stories, the development also included retail space on the ground floors.

What did we do?

For this project we were appointed to install higher level foundations, put in a piling mat and install precast retaining walls.

Additionally, we carried out a reduced level dig, an excavation of 2.5m concrete foundation and poured 1700m3 of concrete as part of a deep piled raft foundation.

Also, we installed manholes and rebar steel cages of around 400ton.
