Overview

Liverpool City Council commissioned the construction of a brand new £40 million purpose-built exhibition centre in 2013, fit with a 200-bed hotel, meeting rooms, covered walkway and a skybridge connecting it to the adjacent existing ACC Liverpool complex.

We were commissioned to do both the enabling works and the main works to construct the hotel, exhibition centre and the service yard.

What did we do?

On this job we did the enabling works which included forming a new road with drainage, kerbing, paving and diverting gas, water, HV, BT and Virgin services as a road had to be closed to allow the main works to progress.

Then on the main project we installed 160m of 4m high perimeter service yard wall with reinforced concrete bases and columns infilled with blockwork and 6000m2 of external paving with a multitude of bespoke features.

Also, we put in a ground floor slab, reinforced concrete foundation bases, an underground service tunnel and drainage.
