Overview
Lancashire Cricket Club, based at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester, got the green light to expand their stadium and the Red Rose Hotel which is attached to the current 26,000-capacity ground, with work getting underway at the beginning of 2022.
Murraywood Construction are working with Eric Wright Construction on this development which includes plans for a new 1,025-seater stand to increase the number of fans who can cheer on Lancashire Lightning during their T20 derby against Yorkshire Vikings and support England for their five-day tests against the likes of India, Pakistan and Australia.
This project also includes the installation of a heritage centre on the ground floor, a guest services hub, a brand-new retail store and an extra 100 bedrooms in the club’s hotel, as well as increasing the capacity for those attending a conference or event at the facility by 200.
For members of the club, there will be enhanced viewing spaces comprising a dual-aspect suite within the spectator viewing terrace meaning fans can feel even closer to the action and experience the joy of every wicket and every six more than ever before.
